ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Safeguards
Our program
was designed with numerous options and features and it provides you
with the best safeguards available to prevent any critical files
from being erased from your system. You can use ParetoLogic Privacy
Controls on your computer and never have to worry or be concerned
that any files or data will be removed that is required to run your
system or any of your applications. We have three types of
safeguards built into our program that will stop this from ever
occurring. These safeguards will only appear when you have selected
items to be shred in the Advance Shred tool in ParetoLogic Privacy
Controls.
1 -
ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Confirmation Message
The first
built in safeguard is a Confirmation Message that you will
see when you select an item to be shred using the Advanced Shred
option in ParetoLogic Privacy Controls. This type of safeguard looks
like this:

This
particular type of safeguard can be easily disabled by placing a
check in the box next to Do not display this message again
located on the bottom of the Confirmation Message. It is not advised
that you do this, as it is better to verify all of the items you
have selected to be shred before you actually erase them.
Note:
Caution should be used every time you erase files using ParetoLogic
Privacy Controls because once you have shred data it cannot be
recovered.

Above
is the Advance Shred window that is used for these types of
shredding. You can learn about using the Advance Shred option
in the Help files or by reading this:
How do I use the Advanced Shred Option in ParetoLogic
Privacy Controls? How do I Shred a File?
2 - ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Pre-defined Settings
The
second type of safeguard provided with our program is Pre-defined
Settings that you use with the Scan & Erase window to set up
your system scan. ParetoLogic Privacy Controls only scans the items
that you have chosen to be included and only these found items can
be erased from your system. If there is a particular item or
category that you do not want to be part of the scan then you have
the option to not include it in the scan. These settings are made in
the Scan Options window shown here:

You
can learn how to do this and see more information about setting
these safeguards in the Scan Options section in the Help
files or by reading this:

Controls to Clean my Hard Drive?
3 – ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Confirmation Dialogs
The third and final safeguard built in our program is
the Confirmation Dialog, which will prevent any critical
files that are needed for the functioning of your system from being
removed. If you try to shred any crucial item you will be presented
with a Confirmation Dialog that you must verify before these items
will be shred. It is a safeguard that cannot be disabled as the
Confirmation Message detailed above can be.
The items that will prompt one of these to appear are
very critical system items such as Windows
system files or any folders and files that are found on or under the
Windows folder. You will have to verify you want to permanently
erase them from your system before you can proceed with the shred.
You will see the following Confirmation Dialog box appear any time
you are about to erase critical files:

Only
after you are sure these files are not needed are you advised to
confirm this type of shred. You will have to type, “YES” in the box
provided, click OK, and then click Shred in the
Advanced Shred window to complete the process.
