What do the Main Areas like Scan and Erase and File Shredder do?

ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Main Window

All of the actions you take with ParetoLogic Privacy Controls are started from the Main Window.  This is the window you will see when you open up the program. To get to the Main window you must start ParetoLogic Privacy Controls.

Opening ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Main Window

• Click on the Start button.
• Select All Programs.
• Locate and select the ParetoLogic folder.
• Select Privacy Controls.
• Click on Privacy Controls.

You can also start the program by double-clicking on the ParetoLogic Privacy Controls icon that is located on your desktop. This icon should have been placed on your desktop during the installation of ParetoLogic Privacy Controls.

You will see the Main window of ParetoLogic Privacy Controls as shown here:

 

 

Main Window Left Panel

Once the Main window of ParetoLogic Privacy Controls is open you will see the different areas of it. The left panel controls include the four selections as explained in detail below:

1 – Scan & Erase Window

This is the window you see when you start ParetoLogic Privacy Controls. It is used to scan and erase unwanted items.

2 – Options Window

To open the Options window you must click on the Options link in the upper left side of the Main Window. You will open the window like the one shown:

 

 

This is for configuring the Scan Options to be used by ParetoLogic Privacy Controls Privacy Controls during a scan. This is the process of selecting the items that you want to be included in a scan.

3 – Advanced Shred Window

 

 

This window is used for shredding (permanently deleting) items from your system. You have different shred levels to choose from and a Shred List that items can be added to.

What is a Shred List?

4 – About Window

To open the About window you must click on the About link in the upper left side of the Main Window. You will open the window like the one shown here:

 

 

The About window in ParetoLogic Privacy Controls has important information about your product and updates. From this window you can check for database and product updates ensuring that you have the newest privacy control protection.

Information included on the About window:

• Product Version
• Database Version
• Date of Last Update Check
• Update Settings
  • Automatic Updates
  • Download Permissions
  • Check for Updates Link

  • License Version
  • License Key (not shown in this example) Your License Key will be shown.
  • License Expire Date
  • Renew License Link

  • Help Link located on upper right of window as shown.

Either of the Help Links will take you to the Help files.     

 

       

 

Main Window Work Space

This is the area where changes are made to ParetoLogic Privacy Controls. In the example below it is the area showing the Options:

 

 

Main Window Other Controls

Other controls included in the Main window are the Help Link located on upper right of window as shown here:    This will take you to the Help files.

There is also the minimize, maximize, and close controls located on the top right side of the window as shown here:
