ParetoLogic Spam Controls is a powerful anti spam program. Using spam recognition techniques combined with allow and block lists Spam Controls basically enables the user to put up a wall against spam email. Spam Controls integrates with Outlook and Outlook Express in order to provide an excellent all round service with live, ongoing protection. The Spam Controls toolbar is a vital and highly beneficial aspect of this protection and one that is too powerful to be ignored. It brings all of the features of Spam Controls straight to your email client without the need to even open the Spam Controls dashboard.
Installing The Toolbar
On installation, Spam Controls will search your installed applications to find any instances of Outlook and Outlook Express. Should either be found on your system then the toolbar will be automatically added to these programs for your benefit. This automatic installation of the toolbar makes the process simple and entirely pain free.
The Toolbar Information Dialog
Once the toolbar and the program are installed you will be presented with a toolbar dialog when you first log on to your email client. This dialog gives a brief breakdown of each of the components of the toolbar and how they work. Once you have got to grips fully with the toolbar the information dialog can be switched off or disabled through the main Spam Controls application. In order to do this simply open Spam Controls on the Options page and deselect the following option:

Toolbar Options Available
The toolbar provides you with the following options and features:
ParetoLogic – this will open your default web browser to the ParetoLogic website. By default this opens on the license renewal page but users can navigate to view other products as well as help files and other important information.

Scan – It can pay, especially if you have recently added or removed senders from the Block and Allow lists, to occasionally scan your email. Even though all email is scanned as it is received if you take any further action with regards to Blocking or Allowing senders you will need to scan again in order for these changes to be considered.
Spam – This button marks the highlighted email or emails as being spam. When you click this button, and if you haven't disabled the screen, you will be presented with the options of adding the sender to the Block List and reporting the email as spam to ParetoLogic.
Purge – Purging removes all the spam email from the PL Spam Controls folder and places it into your deleted items or trash folder. If your email client is automatically set up to remove Deleted Items on a regular basis and you set up Spam Controls to regularly purge items then you should routinely check that you aren't losing genuine email.
Block Sender/Remove From Block – When an email is highlighted this button will either read Block Sender or Remove From Block depending on whether the sender is in your Block List. Clicking the button will add or remove that sender to or from the Block List respectively.
Allow Sender/Remove From Allow – If the sender of a highlighted email is not currently in your Allow list then clicking this button will place them in it. In contrast, if they are an allowed sender, clicking this button will remove those privileges.
Options – Clicking the Options button opens the Spam Controls dashboard and automatically navigates to the Options page.
Help – The help button opens Spam Controls help. The help section contains a lot of useful information on how to perform certain actions and what certain fields and options mean. If you are having any problems with the Spam Controls program then this should be the first step you take.
Using The ParetoLogic Spam Controls Toolbar
The ParetoLogic toolbar is a valuable piece of kit that helps you to quickly flag email as safe or as spam. It also enables you to highlight specific senders as being spammers or enabling them to send you email without fear of the email being removed. While Spam Controls is, for the most part automated, some user control is required to help the application do its work. The toolbar is added to Outlook and/or Outlook Express when you first install the program.
