Scheduling Updates
As with the majority of online security software (such as antivirus and antispyware) the regular updating of your software is a crucial part of maintaining the high level of protection that you need. To view the various update options available for Spam Controls open the application and click on the About Link. Check For Updates
In order to check that you are using the most up to date version of the software, and therefore affording yourself the best protection available, you may click on the “Check For Updates...” button. Establishing An Update Schedule For Spam Controls And Other ParetoLogic Software
Alternatively, if you wish to establish a regular time when your ParetoLogic software will check for updates with a view to installing the latest releases click on the Update Options button from the About screen.
To schedule a regular check for updates click on the Schedule link in the pane on the left of the screen.
Three options exist in this screen as follows:
Auto Update – this is typically the best option. Every 24 hours, or when your computer is turned on after a 24 hour period expires, the software will check for updates.
Manual Update – if you wish to manually check for updates on all ParetoLogic software then select this option to disable the automatic updating option.
Custom Update – in order to establish a set time and day to routinely check for updates select this option. You will be able to select from daily, weekly, or monthly update checks. If you select daily you will be prompted to select a time of the day. Weekly requires the selection of a day of the week as well as a time, while monthly requires the entering of a date and time.
Updating Other ParetoLogic Applications
If you use other ParetoLogic software then you can also use this updater to enable updating for other applications. Click on the Product List button to view the following page:
Highlight any other applications by placing a tick in the box next to the name. To update all ParetoLogic applications that are currently installed click on the Select All button. When you have selected the appropriate applications click the OK button.
Regular Updating Of Your Software
Once you have finished updating and setting the scheduler you can close the main ParetoLogic dashboard and continue to let the application scan from the background of your PC.
